The story of TamaWrap® Pink Premium began with a heartfelt request from a cotton farmer in Missouri, USA. Three years prior, this farmer experienced the devastating loss of his sister to breast cancer at the young age of 33. Determined to honor her memory and raise awareness about the early detection and risks of breast cancer, he envisioned covering a cotton bale with pink wrap, the color associated with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Moved by his story, we at Tama rallied behind the idea. Our Crop Baling Specialists worked tirelessly to create the first-ever pink cotton wraps, which were delivered just in time for the 2013 season. By October 2013, the farmer proudly displayed the first 15 pink cotton wraps on his farm. The response was overwhelming, generating significant buzz and spreading the message of breast cancer awareness across the farming community and beyond.
What started as a single farmer’s tribute has grown into a global movement. Today, TamaWrap® Pink Premium is one of our best-selling wraps. A portion of the sales from these wraps is donated to cancer research and foundations, helping to support Cancer Awareness worldwide. This initiative has made a significant impact, all thanks to the creativity and determination of one innovative cotton farmer.
To ensure the highest quality, the US cotton industry, along with USDA-ARS scientists and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), developed the “Cotton Module Cover Material Performance” standard. TamaWrap® Premium Yellow and Pink have both been approved as round module wrap products that meet the ASABE S615.2 standard, as listed by the National Cotton Council.
Tama’s unique Z-LOCK™ system provides four major benefits:
